Father Anthony Ferguson was determined to make his grandma’s 98th birthday one to remember.
What would have been a day likely spent in the company of her immediate family ended up being significantly curtailed as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Like many people her age, Fr Ferguson’s grandmother has been cooped up in one of the many care homes across the US which have been forced to go into lockdown to stop the virus from reaching its residents.
It’s a situation that has seen her live a more isolated existence than previous, with family visits largely restricted to chats through closed windows.
The lockdown has also meant care home residents have been unable to enjoy excursions out to places like their local church.
